Week two in the field

Hola everyone! This week flew by so fast and I'm growing to love these people more and more!

I know that which the lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the lord hath commanded me; yea and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy! - Alma 9, 29

I know that we can receive personal revelation for our lives and one of the ways we receive answers is through the scriptures. I love this scripture and its been amazing to see how the lord works through us this past week. Its been amazing to follow the promptings of the spirit and now were teaching a lot of the people that either randomly talked to us or we talked to them. Its so important to strive to always be worthy of the Holy Ghost.

A typical day is we wake up at 7 and work out, shower, make breakfast and whatnot and then we plan at 830. 9 to 10 is personal study and they we begin proselyting at 10. Lunch is always with a member and that's usually from 1 to 3 and then after lunch we study for about 3 hours.  Some companion study and when we can we try to fit in language study. And then we usually have appointments with people and if not we are contacting. Contacting is kind of tough sometimes because everyone usually is pretty disinterested at the beginning so its been fun trying to come up with creative ways to start conversations and just get to know them! And then at 930 we head back to our house unless we have an appointment and then we can stay out till 10 and then 10 to 11 is personal time and ya that's our day.

We have two people with baptismal dates which is so exciting, but they need to get married first and that's actually so common here. Couples want to get baptized but they aren't married and that has to happen first but its been great to teach them and help them in any way we can! And Last week we confirmed Elizabeth a member of the Church so that was cool. She was baptized the Sunday before I got here and she's super CAPA ( She's a stud)

We also taught a single mom who has friends who are members. She's so amazing and she came to church yesterday which was awesome, but she doesn't live in our area so we had to start letting the missionaries in her area teach her. At first I was kind of bummed that it wouldn't count as our baptism, but pretty soon I was reminded of how this is the Lords work. Its not in any way about us and I hope that whatever happens that she comes closer to Christ because this gospel brings so much peace in our lives

And yesterday we had such an amazing lesson with a family that we contacted last week. They were sitting outside their house and we almost turned around because I didn't want to disturb them but we started a conversation and they invited us into their home. And then their second lesson their son and his gf joined and he's muy capo. Its crazy because everything we tell him seems like it makes so much sense and I know that the ¨field is white already to harvest. Dyc 4
In our lesson yesterday they told us how last time we left, we left a spirit of peace and comfort and they couldn't really describe it, and then yesterday they stopped us and expressed these same feelings and how they felt different than when other Church's missionaries talked to them. They said they could feel that we cared about THEM and that it wasn't just to get them to join our Church but that it was genuine and pure and that they knew we loved them.

I was beaming the whole time! it was a testament to me that we can truly be ministers of Jesus Christ and it was a great opportunity to testify that the feelings they were feeling were not from us but that is was the holy Ghost testifying of the truthfulness of this message. And when I was explaining the first vision in terrible Spanish, the sons eyes lit up when I told of how God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph smith. This was so cool because at the beginning I was feeling discouraged about my ability to communicate but said a prayer that whatever we said that the holy ghost would testify of it. It was such a humbling experience and I cant wait to see how the lord works through us as we continue to teach them

Here there's no such thing as a stop sign, at least in my area, so that's fun
Also a drink that is so common here is Mate and its basically  tea and literally everyone drinks it. Also I love Facturas, which are basically scones and they are so good!

Its been so hot this week but today and yesterday it has been freezing! The weather here is so weird. Also there's a couple getting married in a month and they asked the missionaries to sing perfect by Ed Sheeran hahah so that should be interesting!

Love you all! Chau
