The Holy Ghost Nov 25, 2019

So a lot happened this week but more than anything, my testimony of the power of the Holy ghost was strengthened. We have been teaching this lady named Elizebeth. Well she came to church this Sunday and she offered to say the last prayer in her class and started to cry. Elder pekins and I saw it from a distance and he gave me a fat hug haha we were so happy for her. She felt the spirit in that moment and later shared with us how she received an answer that the Book of Mormon is true. After a lesson with her she asked, "so when can we put a date for my baptism?" We were amazed! That's normally something we invite the people to do, but I guess the spirit beat us to it. And that's how it should be I guess, because conversion comes through the Holy Ghost. Also shout out to my companion for always being intune with the spirit. One night we were looking for a family, couldn't find them, and so we asked people if they knew anyone we could visit that needed a mes

Deja Vu

SO this was a great week! honestly one of my busiest and most successful, and it was all because I was with Elder Perkins haha. We were companions over a year ago in mexico, and now were together again, hence the title deja vu. It was weird to come here to San ignacio, seeing that I'm still here in Salta! The church here is absolutely amazing! the members made me feel so dang welcome, and they love the missionaries! We did so many things this week but it also flew by so fast, so yeah. We have some pretty nice mountain bikes so that's awesome. Of all the things that happened this week, the coolest part was the spirit we felt! I realized this week more than ever how important it is to be able to feel the Holy Ghost. It truly is one of the greatest gifts we can receive from our Father in heaven. I am so grateful for a gospel centered home, because this week we met a lot of people who told us their life and their problems. Everyone has problems, and that's just life, but the ho

First off, this week we ate with the familia soto, and their grandma is my favorite person in the world. She is literally mama coco "from the movie coco haha" and she doesn't speak spanish. She only knows Quechua and it was hilarious because she was telling us a story, and it got pretty intense. I didn't understand anything, and it was one of the funniest things I've heard, but I didn't want to laugh because I wasn't sure if it was a sad story or not. Her daughter translated for us and she ended up teaching us words and phrases in quechua.Mama coco is awesome and she has such a deep love for Christ and her father in heaven. We did a plaza abierta in Rosario de Lerma and it was super great! a lot of missionaries went and even the assistants helped out. We placed stands in the square and even a tent with a tv showing the trailer for the Book of Mormon videos, and we invited everyone to come and learn more about the church and our message. We talked to some g

Helping Hands Nov 4th

Hey! This week flew by as always, but we were able to do some pretty cool stuff! Saturday we had an activity as a Stake to go an do service for the children's hospital! They gave us the yellow ̈helping hands ̈shirts and everything, and we painted fences, swing sets, and helped plant little trees. It was great, and almost the whole zone was able to be there! We also had leadership council, and I think it was one of my favorites. President Orquera shared many things with us, and lots of changes that we will see in the future, but more than anything he shared with us his testimony. He spoke of Christs grace and how its sufficient, with enough to spare. They also show us the new videos the church will release later this month  for Christmas , and they are amazing! This week we have been teaching the familia Segundo, and it's such a blessing. They talked to us in the street asking that we would teach them, and their family is so sweet. Augustina is 10 years old, and she is so dan

This was a good week! On Saturday we did a Capilla Abierta )kinda like an open house for the church), and it went really well! we invited the hermanas from la loma and the elders from solis Pizarro to help us, and the ward members did a ton to help as well. We had banners and signs and everyone was invited to come and see inside the church and have the members of the church explain what goes on. It went so well, and we met some great people who have been looking for a church, and I think the members loved it too. This week we did divisiones with rosario de lerma, and I was with my man Elder Benites. He's a great missionary and I always learn a lot from him. This week while contacting it was super hot and I was honestly over it, but I learned a lesson about the need to be diligent when the last house we talked to was an amazing person who wanted to hear our message. It was very humbling, and I learned that we are in constant need of seeking God's will and following it. Last week

Faith Without Works

Hola! This week was fairly cold. It had been pretty hot but then the rain came and kinda stayed, so it was a nice break from the heat. On Tuesday we did divisiones with the Elders in La Union and it went well! I went to their area with Elder Smith I've been practicing piano more so I can play in church more frequently. The Church members here are great and are starting to feel like family! This week was mother's day here in Argentina and just like any other holiday, they kind of go all out. on Friday we ate dinner with the ward and on Sunday the family Flores invited us to eat lunch with them. There was a ton of food and it was a good time. In the bible James talks about how we can ask God in faith and he will give us the answer to our prayers. And then he goes on to explain how to use our faith. How it's much more than just believe, but how we need to act too. James 2 : 14 "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works?" 18:
