Week two in the field

Image
Hola everyone! This week flew by so fast and I'm growing to love these people more and more! I know that which the lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the lord hath commanded me; yea and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy! - Alma 9, 29 I know that we can receive personal revelation for our lives and one of the ways we receive answers is through the scriptures. I love this scripture and its been amazing to see how the lord works through us this past week. Its been amazing to follow the promptings of the spirit and now were teaching a lot of the people that either randomly talked to us or we talked to them. Its so important to strive to always be worthy of the Holy Ghost. A typical day is we wake up at 7 and work out, shower, make breakfast and whatnot and then we plan at 830. 9 to 10 is personal study and they we begin pro...

ARGENTINA!

Que Tal Amigos! I made it  to Salta Argentina and it has been so crazy adjusting from the MTC to the mission field.  Since I last wrote, we went to the Mexico temple one last time and it was one of the most spiritual experiences I have ever had. I have such a strong testimony that it is truly the house of the Lord, and that when we go we can be closer to God than almost anywhere. if we are seeking it, we can receive inspiration and guidance in all things. the prophet has said that the heavens are open to those who seek it and I know that this is true. We said goodbye to our teachers Hermano Ochoa y Hermana Lopez and that was bitter sweet and they have had such an impact on my life. (Hermano Ochoa) on our last Sunday our district sang till we meet again and the spirit was so strong and it was definitely tough saying bye to all of them too. It was also Testimony meeting and so it was amazing too hear everyone's testimonies and how far their Spanish had progres...

I leave on Monday!!

Hola Amigos y familia! ´I am called of God. My authority is above that of the king of the earth. By revelation, I have been selected as a personal representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my master and he has chosen me to represent him, to stand in his place, to say and do what he himself would say and do if he personally were ministering to the very people to whom he has sent me. My voice is his voice, and my acts are his acts; my words are his words and my doctrine is his doctrine. My commision is to do what he wants done. To say what he wants said. To be a living modern witness in word and deed of the divinity of his great and marvelous latter day work.¨ - Bruce R McConkie I love this quote so much, and especially this past week I've have realized how true it is. This is his work and his glory, and I am just a instrument in his hands.  ALMA 29,9 Also lately I have a stonger testimony of the priesthood and that it has been restored in these latter days. By t...

Dos Mas Semanas!

This week has been really good and it kind of dawned on me that i leave for Argentina in two weeks ! In the beginning I was starting to get complacent with how much I had learned and I started to notice it in our lessons. I learned that I need to always have a eye single to the glory of God and then as is promised in the scriptures, I will be able to "comprehend all things" like Spanish haha.  Something that someone said in one of our discussions really stuck with me, and has helped when I don't feel like giving my all or if I get distracted. They said how we had an eternity to prepare, and will have an eternity to look back on it, but we only have these two years now to give our all, and how important the work we are doing is. Our next fast from English was so awesome! I didn't feel like I was held back in anyway and felt like I could communicate comfortably! It was so cool and I learned a lot of what I wish I could've said and whatnot. During class o...

Then breakfast is at 715. From 715 to 1215 we are either teaching a progressive investigator, studying, learning the language, improveing missionary teaching, or coaching.
